Executive Women of Rochester (EWR) to offer FREE Glass Cutters

According to the National Organization for Women, despite the passage of the Equal Pay Act of 1963, for working women, things haven't improved that much in 40 years. Currently, a full-time working woman receives only 73 cents to every dollar received by a man. In over 300 job classifications provided by the U.S. Department of Labor Statistics, women are paid less in every occupational classification. The newly formed EWR chapter's primary focus will be to awaken the inherent leadership skills of female executives allowing them reach their full potential.

Executive Women of Rochester, (EWR), affiliated with National Association Female Executives (NAFE) provides to the women business leaders of Rochester and the surrounding community a connection to the largest women's professional association and women business owner's organization in the country.

The first meeting will be on October 23, 2003. The guest speaker will be Germaine Knapp. She is President of Sojourner House, an agency that provides transitional and permanent housing for women and children with services that foster personal growth as well as financial and civic responsibility. Before coming to Sojourner House nearly five years ago, Germaine owned and ran her own business, a management training firm called Wordsmart, Inc. Germaine is active on a number of professional and civic boards and writes a column on leadership issues for the Rochester Business Journal. She and her husband Tom, who reside in Webster, have four grown children.

Meeting will be held at Piano Works Mall Suite 1240. East Rochester, October 23 (Thursday) at 7:30 – 9:00AM. All participants will receive a complimentary glass cutter CD.
